Pale and Naked
I met a Vampire last night.
I was in the woods,
Sludging through mud. It was a damp night;
Dark, dewy, amongst deciduous delights of spruce, shrub, and soil.
I was mid-mud when I heard his hymn.
A shrill, low whistle. There was something in it that pleased me.
I wish I could properly describe this feeling to you,
But from then on
My head was light
And I was compelled to follow.
It led me into a clearing
He stood in the centre.
He was pale and naked.
Frost white hair
Moon-kissed skin
Cavernous eyes.
He glanced at me
And said without speaking -
Come to me let us dance let us sing let us play let us kiss and hug and spin around around and I will release you and you me and we shall delight in each other pleasure in each other and be free and gone and everything else will you allow me to relieve you all you need to do is agree you needn’t even open your mouth to say yes all you need to do is nod yes just a simple nod will do,
And as I parted my lips to speak, the Vampire had already grabbed me
Into his arms
His frigid hands at my neck.
O listener,
If only you could feel -
How his tongue glided underneath my jaw
How his saliva drippped
Down the V of my collarbone,
How it trailed down my chest, splitting me in two.
His bite
His bite
So sudden, violent, gentle
How I gasped.
How I felt my blood,
Coarse, thick, blood
Undulated pulses of fluid leaving me.
How he held me tighter and tighter
As my legs grew weak.
His tender fingers
Prodding my forehead
Phasing through my skin and skull.
He fingered at my brain and showed me
How delicious I was.
I tasted it,
Felt on my tongue
Raspberry and gin,
And I sucked and sucked and sucked.
He showed me other people he’s had and
I tasted them as well.
A Duke, a Vincent, a Caveman, a Sarah.
He was in me
And I him.
My blood sloshing
Down his Throat
Through his Lungs
Caressing his Stomach
Every part of him.
We started to rise.
Up
Up to the moon,
My arms outstretched by his.
We swayed across the sky in an Argentine tango,
Gliding past the woods
Past the lights
To the Pyramids, ravines, towers.
We spun,
Him whispering stories in my ear while I giggled, light
And free.
My blood, my sweet blood,
Out and
In
Till I had no more.
My eyes fluttered,
My heart and
Veins emptied.
He flew me back
To my bedroom
Laid me
There, feeble little me, while I grasped at his arm.
He smiled,
Pecked my cheek
And exited through the window.
I awoke the next day.
I sat up. My limbs had been spent. Something had left me.
I felt as if everything had left me.
I feebly stretched out my neck. I was sore and limp and hungry.
I looked down and
Stared at my arm.
I raised the slab of flesh to my mouth,
Teeth clenching onto sponge
Tentatively biting to taste -
Metal.
I winced.
I tried again.
I gagged a little
Then tried again.
I cried.
And cried some more
And more
